We're here at Lillehammer College, could you explain your work here and the plans for joining with Gjovic college next year?
So how will the joining of the two colleges
benefit the students are studying here? You have a fibre optic link between the two colleges at the moment, what kind of work goes on using that?
Your recent research has focused on telepresence. How did you become interested in that area of communications technology?
So telepresence is the idea of creating the presence of somewhat who is not actually there through technology. In what ways can that presence be created successfully to create an experience for the people involved?
So, this idea of creating a presence. Does that help in the cooperation or the understanding that's going on between people? Is it that the more transparent the technology does that have a better impact on the outcome of discussions?
What has been the most successful project you've worked on? Which has been the most fun?
You also did musicians playing together who were geographically separated but playing synchronous music. How as that experience?
Do you think the idea of telepresence should or can be used in countries where people are not so geographically separated as they are in Norway? Could it much more global to the benefit of everyone?
So do you think that in the future we might see a more global network of learning? Perhaps lecturers from the other side of the world who are experts teaching people a subject that they know best?
Since doing research into the area of telepresence has it changed the way that you work or practice on a daily basis?
Are there other arenas in which this idea could be used perhaps outside education? Perhaps in business or for personal use to allow people to communicate across great distances?
Do you have any more projects in the pipeline which you're going to be working on in the near future?
Just to finish, we've talked about the future of telepresence and technology, but are there any projects in the pipeline for you personally in this area?
