The eChina Phase 2 project on intercultural professional
development for e-learning involves three UK Universities: Lancaster University,
the lead University, with consultancy expertise from the University of Sheffield
and the Open University, and four Chinese universities in a Sino-UK collaboration.
In the UK, the project is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for
England (HEFCE), and is one of several current projects in this programme.
Kaleidoscope is a Network of Excellence which brings together European teams in technology-enhanced learning. Its goal is to integrate 76 research units from around Europe, covering a large range of expertise from technology to education, from academic to private research. VIRTUBeS2 concerns the use of multimedia technologies to support professional development. The project builds upon earlier PhD work with learning technology professionals. Now, ideas from that work are being applied to a different professional grouping, that of research supervisors and research students. VIRTUBeS2 will examine the creation, sharing and critiquing of digital video clips, captured from tutor:research student supervisory sessions among bioscience tutors and their PhD students. More >
